Dear Friends:
Today, after a year spent campaigning to reform the Ohio Valley, I am submitting this letter of concession. At this time, I want to congratulate state Rep. John Domenick on his re-election to the 95th District state rRepresentative seat. I can only hope that Domenick will spend the next two years making good on the promises he has made to the constituents of the Ohio Valley. I also want to thank all Republicans, Democrats and independents in the Ohio Valley, especially those who stood with us, as well as everyone who voted, no matter who their candidate was.
Throughout the last year my wife Jessica and I have worked hard, but a moment never went by where we could forget those who worked just as hard as us on this campaign. In that timeframe I have met thousands of memorable people, new friends and even revived old friendships. Without mentioning names, I want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication over this past year. It is your volunteerism, your time, energy and perseverance which keeps me energized in the belief that we can invigorate and brighten the future of the Ohio Valley.
We stood for real reform in the Ohio Valley, reform that would make a real difference in the daily lives of our friends, families and co-workers. And we've defined that choice with the anticipation of the brighter days ahead.
This was an enormous campaign, guided directly by the constituents and guided by the important issues that face the residents of the Ohio Valley. The need for lower taxes, more business growth and the creation of jobs, along with other additionally imperative issues, will help develop the prospects of the Ohio Valley and allow our friends, families and co-workers to relocate back to our small corner of this great country.
I'm proud of what this campaign stood for and the small accomplishments that we have been able to achieve. We've proved that Ohio Valley residents are tired of rewarding stagnation with re-election and we've proved that the Ohio Valley residents are tired of the "good ole' boys" network and are ready for some new blood, along with youth and enthusiasm in investing in the future of our vast community. Unfortunately, we did not reach enough of the electorate to make the needed difference in the race this year. And because of that failure, I must personally apologize to my supporters.
Last, I would like to congratulate Jefferson County commissioners David Maple on his re-election and to Tom Gentile on his victory. It's people like you who make me proud of the impending reform here in the Ohio Valley.
I may not have won my bid at unseating Domenick, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to continue fighting for a difference here in the Ohio Valley. To all my friends and to everyone in the Ohio Valley: I promise you, I'll be back.
Sincerely,
Daniel Z. Jenkins |
