Toronto, Ohio, February 18, 2010: Daniel Z. Jenkins a candidate running for Ohio State Representative for the Ninety-Fifth District, announced today that he will no longer seek the Republican nomination for the open seat being vacated by term-limited Representative John Domenick (D-Smithfield).
"After extensive deliberation with God, family and friends, I have determined that this is not the right time for me and my family to seek this office. In a time when our friends, family and coworkers are struggling like never before -- I apologize that I will be unable to provide them with the necessary option of a pro-business and pro-family candidate that is acutely absent from this election."
Jenkins continued by saying, “My decision was not motivated by political concern, rather by the everyday concerns of providing for my wife, Jessica and our newborn daughter Julianne. My passion for serving my fellow neighbor is undiminished and perhaps one day I can step forward and offer the vital leadership needed to return industry and jobs to the Ohio Valley’s willing workforce.”
Daniel Z. Jenkins is a lifelong native of the Ohio Valley; he holds degrees in business, technology and political science. Daniel has experience working in the legal sector and academia as well as being an entrepreneur who established a technology company. Daniel, his wife Jessica McGrath, and their daughter Julianne reside in Toronto, Ohio. Daniel and his family are members of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto. |
